Building Enclosure Testing Methods

This training module is about Building Enclosure Testing (BET) which is an essential part of Building Envelope Commissioning (BECx). It will cover what a Building Enclosure or Building Envelope is, why it is important to perform BET in new or existing buildings, what is Airtightness and its benefits and how BET is being performed. This module will also include the common standards or local regulations that are being used as reference when performing BET and some of the usual issues encountered with areas to focus on for improvement. After this training, you should be able to witness a BET with confidence and provide technical inputs for the improvement of the building enclosure or envelope incase the test fails.

  • Provide recommendations for the improvement of building airtightness.
